Last weekend and in honor of Women’s Day, “The Real” co-host Adrienne Houghton and her husband, Christian musician and producer Israel Houghton, took some time out to give to those in need. Founded by the married couple, Besos Care Packages is a service they’ve created in which they offer basic necessities to the homeless living on the streets of downtown Los Angeles, namely on Skid Row. The care packages contain everything from deodorant to socks and everything in between, ensuring that people in need can have their basic needs met. Teaming up with The Salvation Army, their goal was to “build and deliver 500 care packages for women on Skid Row all sealed with a kiss, handwritten notes, and more!”
Quoting a piece of Biblical scripture on their Instagram page, Isaiah 58 verse 10 – “and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry” – the entire verse goes on to say, “and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.”
With plenty of volunteers on hand, Adrienne’s “The Real” co-host Jeannie Mai also was in attendance with her husband Freddy Harteis.

The event was the second for the organization. In January Besos Care Packages successfully assembled and distributed 200 packages and supplies to those in need. Adrienne’s “The Real” co-host Loni Love attended the debut event.

God bless you and your wonderful husband to share your blessings with others that are in dire need of the small things in life. I had an opportunity to be a part of a similar organization last year in Florida, and it really touched my heart to see how appreciative the recipients were. I do get things together on a sometime basis for the church, but would really like to do this on a regular basis. I’m not rich😊, but as Adrienne stated, I was raised poor in the south and my mother instilled in me to always give because you never know who and how you can be a blessing to. I’m a people person and have overcome many health challenges by the grace of God. If you and your husband would be interested in starting Besos here in MI, I would love to be of assistance

God bless you and Israel, i would like t start doing the same in atlantic city n.j.There is a lot t of homeless people in a.c i live in mays landing n.j .but all my doctors are in a.c. so when i go to my appt. I cry all the time . I have faith that one day God will help me to help others im struggling myself but this is my dream come true
