While fans of the NBA are more concerned with his stats and also keeping up with his wife Gabrielle Union’s TV series, Being Mary Jane (which returns to TV on October 20th with a two hour premiere), Miami Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade is also keeping himself busy concerning himself with others. Wade has a foundation called Wade’s World Foundation, which focuses on the needs of children. The motto is “every child deserves a shot” and their mission is to “provide support to community-based organizations that promote education, health and social skills for children in at-risk situations. WWF is dedicated to its vision of empowering underserved core communities of Chicago, Milwaukee, and the South Florida areas.”

Through everything from reading programs to physical activity and staying healthy, the program is able to teach the youth about health, leadership and purpose.
